CLASS PARENTS
MS54 relies on its Class Parent network to communicate, organize, and help build community. Each homeroom needs at least one Class Parent. Since homerooms won't physically be together this year, we are hoping to recruit Class Parents for each Class Section. If interested, please complete the 2020-2021 Class Parent Interest Form.

Class Parents COMMUNICATE
- The Class Parents (CPs) are the link between the teacher and/or the PTA and the homeroom class.
- CPs distribute communication from the Parent Coordinator or the PTA Grade Rep to the homeroom. Emails should be sent to the class within two days of receipt.
- CPs finalize the class list and distribute it to all homeroom families.
Class Parents ORGANIZE
- CPs encourage families in their homerooms to participate in the various fundraising and community building activities that are conducted during the school year.
Class Parents BUILD COMMUNITY
- CPs organize occasional class breakfasts or other activities as requested by the homeroom teacher.
- CPs facilitate class gatherings outside of the school for class bonding. Some ideas that have worked well in the past are a class picnic, a grown-ups’ night out, or a morning coffee at a local coffee shop. Please plan at least two events during the year.
Class Parents are NOT...
- CPs are not an advocate for other parents in the class! Parents need to contact the appropriate teacher or staff member themselves if they have an issue that needs to be addressed.
