CLASS PARENTS

MS54 relies on its Class Parents to communicate and help build community.

For any questions, please reach out to Parent Coordinator Anne McIntosh Pejovich.
Class Parents COMMUNICATE
  • CPs finalize the class list and distribute it to all homeroom families.
  • CPs distribute communication from the Parent Coordinator or the PTA to the homeroom. E-mails should be sent to the class within two days of receipt.
  • The CPs are the link between the teacher and/or the PTA and the homeroom class.

Class Parents
BUILD COMMUNITY
  • CPs encourage families in their homerooms to participate in various fundraising and community-building activities that are conducted during the school year such as class breakfasts (pre-COVID) or other activities as requested by the homeroom teacher or the PTA.
  • CPs facilitate class gatherings outside of the school for class bonding. Some ideas that have worked well in the past are a class picnic, a grown-ups’ night out, or a morning coffee at a local coffee shop. Please plan at least two events during the year.

Class Parents are NOT...
  • CPs are not an advocate for other parents in the class! Parents need to contact the appropriate teacher or staff member themselves if they have an issue that needs to be addressed.
