2021 - 2022 EVENTS
February 10, 2022 @ 3:15pm
Lee Lee's Bakery & Sugar Hill Creamery
Thank you to everyone who joined Shades on a walking trip for sweet treats in celebration of African American Month! We talked about life at Booker T. and upcoming events while enjoying rugelach and ice cream. Contact Ms. Johnson with questions. And, learn more about Lee Lee's Bakery!

Gender Sexuality Alliance

Picture
Students interested in meeting peers in the LGBTQ+ community across all grades should consider joining the Gender Sexuality Alliance. The GSA is a safe space for all students to be themselves and to discuss LGBTQ+ issues, problems and experiences - while both improving the schools community and of course, hanging out with friends and having fun!

The group meets in Room 101 every Monday at 8am. If you are interested in joining us or have questions, please sign up for more info (you must have a DOE account) or e-mail Mr. Chilelli.

Asian american association

Asian American Association @ MS54
The Asian American Association (A3 Club) was founded by a cohort of students who were inspired by the growing sense of Asian activism during the winter of 2020.

We meet in Room 218 every Monday at 8am. If you’re interested in joining us for the 2021-2022 school year, please fill out the prospective member survey! Filling out this survey does not mean that you have committed to joining, but it will add your e-mail address to our contact list.
2021 - 2022 EVENTS
Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month Assembly
May 20, 2022
In honor of Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the MS54 Asian American Association will be presenting an assembly in school on May 20th. The students will celebrate API culture, stories and talent!
Lunar New Year Festival
January 28, 2022
The Asian American Association hosted its first ever in-person Lunar New Year Festival! About 100 attendees enjoyed free activities and food. There were arts and crafts such as calligraphy, lantern-making, dragon-making, and tiger painting. There were also events such as a raffle and Michelle Lou’s guzheng performance. Most of all, this was a chance for MS54 students, staff and families to have fun and celebrate the Lunar New Year together. We hope everyone in our school community has a happy Lunar New Year, and we can’t wait to see you at our next event!
