  It's time to order pie and support Booker T!

  Thanksgiving is all about family, friends—and of course, FOOD! And nothing says Thanksgiving like pie. One of our favorite Booker traditions is the annual Pie Sale, with all proceeds supporting MS54.

  There are two ways you can take part:

  1. Treat yourself – Buy a pie to enjoy at home.

  2. Give back – Donate a pie to the Ascension Food Pantry for their community Thanksgiving dinner.

  This year, we’re thrilled to partner with Meredith’s Breads, known for their delicious, handmade pies crafted with care from locally sourced ingredients.

  New this year: We're adding quiches to the menu to make your Thanksgiving morning easy and delicious!

  Let’s make this Thanksgiving a little sweeter—one pie at a time!

• Stop Bullying

  October is National Bullying Prevention month. We want to encourage students and staff to participate in raising awareness about the harmful effects of bullying and how together we can support prevention, intervention, and reduce incidents.

  We are asking staff and students to wear an orange shirt on October 24 to send a visible message that no child or adult should ever experience bullying.

   

  October 27th is Mix it Up at "Lunch Day". We are asking students and staff to cross social boundaries, move out of their comfort zone, and connect with someone new over lunch.

  All families should review the handbook and check for changes, updates and schedule information.

• LTE Data Service to be Activated on NYCPS-Owned, LTE-Capable Remote Learning Devices

  In early October 2025, LTE data service will be activated on NYCPS-owned LTE-capable devices. This service, provided through a mayoral initiative, will help ensure students have reliable internet access outside the classroom. For most students, this service will be turned on automatically with no assistance required from Booker T. technology support. We will announce when this service becomes effective so that students can check their devices to see that the LTE feature is active. Some devices may need to be swapped.

• NYCSA MOBILE APPLICATION

  GET THE APP!

   

  Parents/guardians with an active NYC Schools Account (NYCSA) can access their child’s grades, assignments, and attendance using the NYCSA mobile application that can be downloaded on iOS (Apple) and Android devices.
  
  Parents who wish to use the app must first create a NYCSA account on a desktop or laptop computer. The NYCSA mobile app does not provide all the features of the desktop app.

• Set Up Your NYC Schools Account

  ​Did you know that you can track your child’s education on any computer, phone, or tablet?

   

  You can sign up for an account by entering a few basic details. This will allow you to begin receiving notifications from the DOE. It only takes five minutes, and it is the first step in getting a full account.
  
  NYC Schools Account (NYCSA) is a DOE online service that lets you access important information about your child on any device. The website is accessible in nine languages.
  
  The NYC Schools Account allows you to view your child’s grades, report cards, attendance history, test scores, transportation information, IEP information, track your child’s progress to graduation, and more to come!  Step-by-step instructions are provided at the link below.

  The new NYCSA Mobile application will be available for parents and guardians during the Fall term of the new school year 2023-24. Parents who wish to use the app must first create a NYCSA account on a desktop or laptop computer. The NYCSA mobile app does not provide all the features of the desktop app. It will be available soon on Google Play or the Apple App Store at no cost!
