ASIAN PACIFIC ISLANDER AMERICAN ASSOCIATION
The Asian Pacific Islander American Association club was founded by a cohort of students who were inspired by the growing sense of Asian/Pacific Islander activism during the winter of 2020.
We meet in Wednesday from 3pm - 5pm, and Thursdays at 8am. We also connect on Google Classroom # x7ptrcu

Please join us!
We also celebrate the Lunar New Year in January/February -- In 2026 this falls on February 17, the Year of the Fire Horse! This falls during a school break, so stay tuned for information on our in-school celebration date. Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month comes in May, where we celebrate API culture, stories and talent!
Lunar New Year Festival
The Asian Pacific Islander American Association hosts an annual Lunar New Year Festival where attendees enjoy free activities and food. There are arts and crafts such as calligraphy, lantern-making, dragon-making, and tiger painting. There are also events such as a raffle and performances. Most of all, this is a chance for MS54 students, staff and families to have fun and celebrate the Lunar New Year together.

GENDER SEXUALITY ALLIANCE
The Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) is a club where students can be themselves and discuss LGBTQ+ issues and experiences, while hanging out with like-minded peers. It is a safe space and is open to students of all identities, including queer, questioning, and allies.
The group meets in the library every Friday at 8am. If you are interested in joining us or have questions, stop by a meeting, or contact Ms. Saltzman or Ms. Comber.
