HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH

Hispanic Heritage Month 2020 runs from September 15th through October 15th. Here are some resources collected by the MS54 Equity Team to promote and celebrate Hispanic heritage and culture!

resources

Méndez v. Westminster (PDF)
Students, teachers and families may be interested in learning about a landmark legal case, which led to the desegregation of schools in California about eight years prior to the famous Brown v. Board case. Earl Warren was governor of CA at the time and Thurgood Marshall represented Sylvia Méndez and used some of the same arguments as would be used in Brown v. Board.
