This year MS 54 has begun using an online reading and math program called Study Island.
The program has several dimensions. There is test preparation, class work review and remediation. Some teachers will be assigning specific students review topics to work on either at home or at school during Early Academy. Other teachers will be using it in class.
Each student has their own account. Students can go onto the program at www.studyisland.com.
The student's login is their firstinitiallastname@ms54 (example: eelster@ms54) and each student's password is their DOE Student ID number. (Note: Students must add just @ms54 – not @ms54.org – for it to work.)
The computer labs will be open during Early Academy for students who wish to use the computers for Study Island. Dr. Elster will keep parents posted as we see how this works.
