This is '2a'. We've added address columns and replaced the two row head with a single row head of unique titles. This facilitates creating a Word mailmerge doc.

Here is a mailmerge doc that will merge the xls to a new page-friendly document.

The mailmerge doc works like any mailmerge doc. The main requirement is to NOT change the column headings in the xls, or if you have made changes, make your xls at least look like the provided template.

Another helpful item is to create a label to identify the area you want to merge - this should include headings and down to the last row of data. When you pick your document to merge, this area label will be shown and you can select, and in this way, you will have an output that has no blank lines.

After you merge you will have new document. It will be in Normal View and you will not see that it has headings. You probably should edit the heading to make it reflect the class name and teacher. Save it in page view if that's how you want to distribute it, though the best way is to print it to a PDF file using a free converter such as CutePdf.

When you distribute as a PDF, the layout will appear as you like, it will not be easily modifiable, it will not carry Word viruses so people can feel comfortable opening it and it will be openable with any of several free PDF reader products. When printing as PDF, just be careful to choose very general settings so Mac and PC users will not need to have your chosen character fonts.
